| 1. Class Structure |
The 2009 Pro Honda Women’s Cup Challenge will feature one Open Sportbike class. Expert and Novice riders will be invited to compete together. There will be a season championship for expert riders only. Novice riders will have their points tabulated based on overall finishing position but no season championship will be awarded. Expert and Novice riders will race all together but will be awarded prizes according to class. Bonus points will also be awarded for qualifying finishes.
Rule structure and class structure is designed to best suit the needs of the riders and is based on input from the riders. Rules may be modified if the riders and management see fit and decide to do so throughout the season. Competitors will be made aware of any impending rule changes in a timely manner and no rules will be changed or modified without giving adequate time for riders to prepare or adjust accordingly.

Traction Control is not permitted. Traction Control is defined, for the purposes of this Rulebook, as an electronic control system that actively or simultaneously limits power delivery, thus eliminating or restricting wheel slip and controlling acceleration.
National series organizers will review and refine the definition and application of rules pertaining to Traction Control during each off season. |
| |
|
| 9. Noise Restrictions/Enforcement |
| All machinery must have effective noise reduction/silencing, meaning “straight” pipes are not allowed. Machines must test in an open area of the paddock with someone seated on the running machine. With the engine running at half throttle in neutral, each competitor’s machine can measure no more than 106dB. The decibel meter is located .5 of a meter (20 inches) away and at a 45-degree angle from any muffler outlet. |

| 12. Horsepower Limits |
Immediately following each qualifying session or race, the top finishers plus other motorcycles chosen at random may be tested on the Official Series Dynojet Dyno to verify power.
A. For the WCC, each machine may develop no more than 118hp at the conclusion of the event. This includes all displacement sizes.
B. Switches or any other device designed to affect the horsepower readings during dyno testing are strictly prohibited. Competitors who stop on course during or after an event (cool off lap) and attempt to alter, or alter, the performance of their machine will be disqualified.
NOTE: Free Dyno testing will be available for all National racers from the National Dyno sponsor, Dynojet Research. All competitors must carry a provided Dynojet sticker on each side of their machine, clearly visible when the rider is in position. |
| |
|
| 13. Post Qualifying/Post Race Tech |
Machines unable to make post qualifying or post race tech and complete their dyno runs for any reasons, including running out of fuel, major crashes or major mechanical failures will be disqualified. Allowances will be made for minor mechanical failures that can be repaired, under strict supervision, in a reasonable amount of time and that do not have any bearing on performance or weight. Determination of ‘minor’ will be at the discretion of the Tech Inspector.
Allowances will also be made for minor crashes on machines that can be ridden back to pit lane. Determination of ‘minor’ will be at the discretion of the Tech Inspector.
In the instance where a motorcycle on the dyno produces one run where that motorcycle registered within one horsepower of the horsepower limit, that motorcycle will be re-tested at the end of that class/group;
If that motorcycle again reads beyond the standard, that machine will be penalized as per the Rulebook.
If that machine reads within the guidelines in the dyno re-do, no penalty will be assessed.
DOUBLEHEADERS: In the case where a single qualifying session determines the starting grid for two separate Feature National events, half of the specified penalty will be applied to each of the two events. |

| |
|
| 16. Penalties |

| Rider Classification |
There will be two classes of riders for the Women’s Cup Challenge. The more experienced will be classified as Expert while the less experienced and new riders will be classified as Novice. Novice class riders can apply at anytime to be bumped to Expert level. Applications will be reviewed by the Women’s Cup committee and permission will be granted or not based on rider performance and experience. The Expert class is open to all Pro level and approved Amateur female racers.
Novice riders finishing 1st or 2nd overall will be moved to Expert the following year. |
| |
|
| Rider Licensing and Numbers |
| All competitors must obtain a RACE license. The Women’s Cup Challenge Series will use RACE issued rider #’s as the official competitor numbers unless permission is granted otherwise. Please make sure to obtain your RACE license and rider # early. In order to help identify Expert racers will race with an E and Novice racers with an N beside their competition numbers. |
| |
|
| Cherrypicking |
| WCC organizers reserve the right to move Novice riders to Expert at anytime if they feel riders are creating either safety issues or are not competing within the spirit of the rules. Novice riders who are considered to be experienced by WCC organizers may be moved to Expert even though they may not have accumulated enough points. |
| |
|
| Awards |
| Riders in both the Novice class and Expert class finishing in the top three positions will be awarded prizes for 1st through 3rd position. Expert champion will be awarded number one plates for the following season. |
| |
|
| Contingency Rules |
| The Pro Honda Women’s Cup Challenge has many supporting contingency sponsors. The sponsors are not only very important to the operation of the series on a professional level but are essential to rider support. As the series title sponsor, all riders will be required to display the “Pro Honda” triangle in prominent areas on both sides of the motorcycle at all times. These stickers as well as other contingency sponsor stickers will be available at the Orion trailer track-side at all times and will be a requirement at technical inspection. |
